Joe Gibbs Special Edition Silverado Is Onyx Black paint, the original paint has a nice, smooth finish. A closer inspection will reveal that, despite this truck's substantial power and assembly of performance components, it has been treated with respect, showing no battle scars from the road and a collection of body trim that's still in great shape. Up front, blacked out headlights and grille looming over the special edition bumper add to its aggressive appearance, and the short bed that follows an extended cab with darkened rear windows accentuates this Chevy's stoutness. Its stance is just right - low enough to confirm an aftermarket sensibility, yet not so extreme as to be an issue during everyday driving - and the compact rear spoiler perched over the liftgate is a nice added touch.

Climb inside the spacious cabin and you'll quickly develop an appreciation for the roomy interior that surrounds you. With its tasteful mix of black leather and suede, it's almost hard to believe that a truck could come out of the factory with such an inspired interior, but this one did. Everything inside the doors presents really well - the front buckets with their embroidered NASCAR emblems appear surprisingly fresh and the back seats look nearly unused. Direct your attention to just beyond the steering wheel and you'll see a collection of clear, functional platinum-faced gauges in the special edition Joe Gibbs instrument cluster. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo now sits in place of the original, offering both Bluetooth and satellite connectivity to go along with a premium audio experience that's taken to an even higher level by the subwoofers now securely mounted below the seats - if you like bass, this unit absolutely delivers. Additional interior features include air conditioning, cruise control, and power door locks, windows and mirrors.

This elite pickup is powered by a fuel injected supercharged 5.3-liter V8 whose output isn't a matter of conjecture - its dyno results are included, to go along with the Joe Gibbs build sheet that details the top tier components that are also on board. The engine is running strong, starting up with ease as it teams with a 4-speed automatic transmission that shifts without issue. This truck is carrying a potent drivetrain, and the power at your disposal will be evident with your first tap on the throttle. With a long tube manifold directing the exhaust out to a Corsa exhaust, it also sounds great as it cruises on a set of 20" special edition wheels wrapped with Ironman tires that still show plenty of tread.
