On a Summer Night is the first single from the debut album, American Music, by New York rock musician, Billy Lord.
The music video for On a Summer Night (HIGH DEF) was filmed by Director, Virginia Boyles, with Ray
Tennyson III on a second camera. Makeup by L.j. HIll and Kim Chapman.
Video editor was Joseph DiConcetto.
Shot on a zero budget over four days in the towns of Wilson and Ardmore, Oklahoma,
the video stars model Alex Temblador and tells a timeless story of love, of freedom, and of the passage of time in
rural America. The co-star in the video is a 1972 Camaro Z 28, restored by Fred Murfin of Redline Muscle Cars
of Wilson, OK. Many of the main scenes, including the historic gas station scene and the bonfire scene, were filmed on the
Murfin homestead.
The Murfin family became our family during the shoot, making this video come to life. They opened their
home and extended the warmest hospitality to the cast and crew. Fried chicken (the best!) was provided by Kim Murfin
from J's Cafe in Wilson, OK.
During the shoot, we were visited by a torrent and had to run for cover when a sudden
lightning storm hit. The sunlight of the early summer evenings in Oklahoma gave the shoot a warm, natural glow and the green
fields and scenic rural highways offered the perfect setting for young love, innocence and escape.
Dog tags bear the name of
William Coyle, Billy's grandfather, who died in WWII. The rosary beads hanging from the rearview mirror belonged to Virginia Boyles'
mother and hold great sentimental value.
